Kryshar, the country I call Utopia is located in Europe, to the south of Germany and the north of Switzerland. It is also sharing a border with France. It is a perfect location, as will be explained later on.
It is roughly the same size as Switzerland, which is 41,277 sq km. However, this country is still slightly bigger than that country; it is roughly 42,000 sq km. It is still much smaller compared to the other countries but that is a good thing for the government because it is easier to manage. Despite its small size, it can still make a profit out of tourism, export and appear appealing to travelers. It's coordinates are as follows:
Southernmost point: 46.3, 6.9
Westernmost point: 47.8, 6.2
Northernmost point: 49, 9.2
Easternmost point: 47.7, 10.8
Population: This country has a striking similarity with Switzerland. Even the total population size is somewhat similar. In Switzerland, the population was estimated to be 8,121,830 in July last year. However, in our case, Kryshar has the perfect population number of an estimated 7,900,000. Therefore with the bigger country size and somewhat smaller population, the average population density will be slightly lower. The population density per square kilometers is 200. This is a very beneficial thing on many levels.
Terrain: My Utopia has mountains on the southern side of the country. The entire mountain range, not just he part at this country's border, is looping around in an arc, roughly 700 miles long. These mountains, which are the famous Alps, reach for some peaks 4,000 meters above sea level. It will take some adapting for people to live around or on the mountain range, but it is definitely possible and once they got used to living there, they would be able to live a nice life. Their bodies would have to get used to breathing and pumping blood through their bodies faster due to the lower oxygen levels in higher altitudes. The housing will be located in one of the gentle-sided valleys near the foot of the mountains or higher up on a plateau.This will also be useful for agriculture.The people that live there are very friendly and open towards tourists and travelers because of their friendly ways and somewhat isolation.
The temperate forests are located to the north-east of the country. The entire forest belongs to Kryshar and the northernmost forest border is also the border to Germany. This will affect the military, defense, trading and tourism. Kryshar knows how to use all of these factors to their best advantage. The forest is not very dense, still letting a lot sunlight through the trees.The trees will be useful for exporting wood as a natural resource. This could give the country a source of income and also will enable the people in the country to get easy access to wood to build their buildings.The wildlife in the forests is very diverse. There are deer, boars, pigs, a wide variety of birds, foxes and wolves. These will also impact the trading, jobs and entertainment of the country. People can go hunting in the forest for food and take several plant seeds to plant them as crops for agriculture as well. The forest will also offer a source of jobs for the people as a forest ranger or hunter, with which they can earn a steady income. The forest is also a place where anybody can go to indulge themselves during their leisure time. It is soothing for the mind and body to be surrounded by nature and fresh air. People can go bird-watching, take a walk through the trails and watch the animals in their natural habitat.
Temperature range: Due to the different terrain of my country, the temperature range will be vastly different, depending on the area. The people living in these respective areas would have to adapt to the different temperatures. As an example, to the west of Kryshar, where the mountains are located, it will be colder than in the forest due to the altitude difference.The temperature range in the west of the country is usually -40°C to 10°C. This will have an impact on the people's living condition, transport, food storage and In the north of the country the temperature range will be different because the altitude stays mostly the same. Therefore the temperature range for the forested region will be higher than for the mountains. The forested region also has the same temperature range as the rest of the country. It has a temperature range of -20°C to 30°C throughout the year.
Climate: Overall, the entire country is going to cycle through all four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, winter. As is common with mountainous regions, the face of the mountain that is facing inwards to the country will have more rainfall. Therefore the vegetation on that side will be lush and green. The wildlife is also quite diverse. Different animals live on different altitudes and the vegetation is a source of food. Due to the regular rainfall, farming will be easier because the plants can still get water and with the villagers living there, they can help take care of the crops. The mountains range has several extremely high peaks which always have snow on them. The constant snow will allow tourists to come during any time, summer or winter, and go snowboarding, skiing or hiking.
The forests will have slightly less rainfall than in the mountains. During winter, because it is located in Europe, there will be snow all over the country. Like mentioned for the mountains, the winters will be a source of entertainment for the people living in the country and the tourists.
In general, the air isn't very humid which is beneficial for several people's health. If the air is too humid, then it could cause some humans to have breathing difficulty. However, that is not the case in this country. This country seems to have the perfect climate. Anyone of any age can live here. The summers aren't very hot, like mentioned above by the temperature range.
Natural Resources: This is going to impact what my country is going to trade with other countries. The natural resources will be mostly focused on wood from the forest. The people over there don't cut down the entire forest. They section off a part of the forest and constantly replant what they cut down. This is going to be useful because this way the animals can keep most of their habitat and the country will stay eco-friendly. Besides that Kryshar will also be exporting dairy products from the mountains. It will also be possible to mine some minerals from the Alps and then trade them with other countries. The extra trading will be beneficial for the country because since it follows a free-market economic system, the country and the companies in the country rely on trading a lot to generate their wealth. Therefore Kryshar uses every available resource to trade. The trading is also a very good method to have a stable economy while maintaining a good and healthy ecosystem and nature.
