Culture

Kryshar's culture was actually slowly made up over time because of its close geographic proximity to the three different countries: Germany, Switzerland and France. Especially the close relationship Kryshar and Switzerland have built over time caused Switzerland's own culture to affect Kryshar's as well. This can be seen from the cuisine. Besides that, other factors that can influence this amazing country's culture would be its geography with the mountains and forests. Besides that, its history also had a great influence over it.

It is important to read about the British colonization of the North-western part of Kryshar in the History page before reading certain parts of this page. (For better understanding)

The National Day of Kryshar is on the 5th of September.

Cheese fondue is a specialty in Kryshar
Cuisine: We didn't actually plan on having food specific to Kryshar, because its history and geographic location would have made it unoriginal. However, the mountains are a great place for dairy farming. Switzerland and Kryshar both use the extensive range of the Alps to herd all types of cattle, like cows, sheep and goat. All of these animals produce milk and are raised in the Alps, making the cheese produced a specialty. Due to Kryshar's extensive production of cheese, the locals, the ones living near the Alps in specific, have used this cheese and have perfected the art of cooking cheese fondue. Now cheese fondue is a renowned specialty of Kryshar. Every tourist that comes to visit must at least have eaten cheese fondue once as it is known throughout the world for its deliciousness. Besides that, different regions of the country have different cuisines, that end up mixing together. Due to the British colonization in the past,  the locals have made a habit of having tea with cakes in the afternoon at three or four o' clock. The most northern part of the country also likes drinking beer and eating Goulash, which is typical German food. The western part of the country also eats more French food. Therefore, in the part of Kryshar located between France and Germany, the locals serve Flammkuchen. This is related to history and the current day. Earlier time, when peasants were very poor and hardly had anything to eat, they put together the ingredients they had and created Flammkuchen. It originated in Germany, but has now become extremely popular in France.

Languages: English will be a compulsory subject in school, so that every person can speak English after they finished school, because it is an important skill to have to be international. The British colonization in the past also influenced this. However, the overall language will be German throughout the entire country because Kryshar borders with Switzerland and Germany. The western part of the country speaks French. The eastern part of the country that borders with Switzerland also speaks German, but they also speak Swiss.

Sport: Kryshar has a lot of opportunities for people to take up a sport as a hobby or train full-time. There are various things to do in the country. First off, the Krysharian Forests are a perfect place for bird-watching, hunting and walking in general. The forest also provides a good place for biking, horse-riding, running and jogging. As mentioned, there are many opportunities for people to perform sports in Kryshar. The Alps also offer sports for the population. Because the altitude is high enough for snow to be present most, if not all, year round, people can practice snow-related sports there to their heart's content. As an example, because of the excellent mountain range at our disposal, Kryshar can compete in the Winter Opympics for skiing and snowboarding. The mountain range is also fantastic for hiking during any time of the year.

National Clothing: Anyone in Kryshar can wear whatever they want as clothing. We don't have a typical national clothing. This is good, because if someone has to wear a special clothing type for their religion, then they are free to do that without having to worry about following the dress code. This also gives the citizens more freedom, which is a right everyone should have.
